James D. Bennett
President & Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Bennett was promoted to Chief Executive Officer and President in June 2013.
Prior to that he served as President and Chief Financial Officer since March 2013 and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since January 2011. From 2010 until he joined the Company, he was Managing Director for White Deer Energy, a private equity fund focused on the exploration and production, oilfield service and equipment, and midstream sectors of the oil and gas industry. From 2006 to December 2009, Mr. Bennett was employed by GSO Capital Partners L.P. where he served in various capacities, including as its Managing Director.
Mr. Bennett graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Finance from Texas Tech University in 1993. Mr. Bennett has served on the board of directors of the general partner of Cheniere Energy Partners L.P. and PostRock Energy Corporation.
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Bott was appointed as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in August 2015.
Prior to joining SandRidge, Mr. Bott served as Chief Financial Officer at Texas American Resources Company since 2009. Mr. Bott has more than thirty years of diverse financial experience across the oil and gas and investment banking industries, including as Managing Partner at Kensington Energy Partners and as Chief Financial Officer of 3dMD. Mr. Bott has held various executive positions at the Toronto Dominion Bank, including Regional Head of US and European Corporate and Investment Banking, and Global Head of Energy and Project Finance. Mr. Bott also served as a Managing Director in the Energy Group of Bankers Trust Company.
Mr. Bott holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Harvard University and a Master of Business Administration from Rice University. Mr. Bott serves on the Board of Directors of EQT Midstream Partners, LP (NYSE: EQM).
Executive Vice President And Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Suter joined SandRidge in April 2015 as Senior Vice President of Mid-Continent Operations, bringing with him extensive experience in the exploration and production sector, including most recently serving as Vice President of the Woodford business unit at American Energy Partners, LP from November 2013. From May 2010 to September 2013, he served as Vice President of Operations for Chesapeake Energy Corporation’s Western Division, and before that, as Chesapeake’s District Manager for the Barnett Shale and Southern Oklahoma assets. Before joining Chesapeake Energy, Mr. Suter served in various operational roles at Continental Resources, Inc., Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation and Petro-Lewis Corporation. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University.
Michael A. Johnson
Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer
Prior to joining SandRidge, Mr. Johnson served as Senior Vice President – Accounting, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer at Chesapeake Energy Corporation from 2000 until May 10, 2017 and served as its Vice President of Accounting and Financial Reporting from 1998 to 2000 and as Assistant Controller from 1993 to 1998. From 1991 to 1993, Mr. Johnson served as Project Manager of Phibro Energy Production, Inc. From 1987 to 1991, he served as an Audit Manager of Arthur Andersen & Co. Mr. Johnson is a Certified Public Accountant and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1987.
Senior Vice President - Capital Markets and M&A
Mr. Brawley joined SandRidge in November 2014 and served in a number of roles, bringing with him significant experience in capital market transactions and deal structuring. Before joining SandRidge, Mr. Brawley served as CFO of Miller Energy Resources, Inc. Prior to that, he was the co-head of the Houston office for Guggenheim Partners, LLC , managing their mezzanine energy portfolio and providing energy expertise for their high yield and syndicated loan portfolios. Mr. Brawley’s experience also includes energy investment banking at Lehman Brothers. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Economics, and a Master of Business Administration, both from Rice University.
Senior Vice President - Reserves, Technology & Business Development
Mr. Galvin has 32 years of industry experience focused on reservoir engineering and asset management. Prior to joining SandRidge, he worked for PostRock Energy from 2009 to 2011, serving in several vice president positions. Prior to that, he served as Chief Operating Officer for privately-held Windsor Energy from 2008 to 2009. His experience also includes working as a consulting petroleum engineer for Pinnacle Energy Services, LLC for five years.
Mr. Galvin began his career in the oil and gas industry in 1980 with Marathon Oil Company where he held various positions of increasing responsibilities in engineering and management in domestic and international locations. Mr. Galvin graduated from Colorado School of Mines with a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering and is a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Oklahoma.
R. Scott Griffin
Senior Vice President – People and Culture
Mr. Griffin returns to SandRidge from Chaparral Energy, where he led the strategic Human Resources function. He previously served as Director of Human Resources at SandRidge from 2008 to 2012. For the past 26 years, Mr. Griffin has held various HR and leadership roles including 13 years as Senior Vice President of Wood Designs, a leading retail fixture manufacturer, and 5 years as the principal of redlion Industrial Supply, a company he founded and managed.
Mr. Griffin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Oklahoma and has completed graduate coursework in Organizational Development.
Senior Vice President – General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
He also serves as our Corporate Secretary. Prior to joining SandRidge, Mr. Warman was the Associate General Counsel for SEC and finance matters for Spectra Energy Corporation from January 2007 through July 2010. From 1998 through 2006, he practiced law as a corporate finance attorney with Vinson & Elkins, LLP in Houston, Texas. Mr. Warman earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston and graduated from the University of Texas School of Law.
